Save On Drugs

Prescription drugs can cost a significant amount, some require winning the lottery.

Save on drugs

Many prescription drugs are necessary and life-saving. Use our advanced tips to make them affordable.

If You Have A Prescription & Insurance

If you have a prescription and have insurance you can use, this creates more options but not all of them will save you money.

If you skip using your insurance and pay cash you can sometimes find a better deal. Honeybee Health prices some of its generic medications below what many people pay after insurance. We found Singular generic, montelukast to be significantly cheaper paying cash through Honeybee Health vs. using insurance at CVS. The price at CVS after insurance was $30 for 90 days, at Honeybee Health the same medication was $11 for 90 days.

If You Have A Prescription But No Insurance

With a prescription, there are still some cost-effective options to pursue.

Honeybee Health prices many of its generic medications as low as what many people pay after using their insurance. There are also a number of discount online pharmacies including Amazon’s pharmacy, and Cost Plus Drugs. Blink Rx is a low-cost online pharmacy that has local pick-up at thousands of pharmacies affiliated with chain stores, removing the long wait to have medications shipped. Walmart’s pharmacy also has a number of generic meds and older types of insulin at low prices with many medications at $4 for 30 days worth.

Also look for consumer discount programs or coupons if you do need to use a brand-name medication. Generics are typically cheaper but in some cases, brand name drugs with a coupon may be cheaper. Coupon programs typically have to be used at brick-and-mortar pharmacies so do your homework in these situations.
