These two tested gadgets will save you a trip to the chiropractor and let you adjust your back and neck at home.
Back and neck pain are all too familiar. Overdoing it, too much computer time or just sleeping wrong can put your neck or back out of alignment. A trip to the chiropractor will usually resolve whatever is out of place., but this involves expense, time for an office call, and isn’t without some risk. A recent study found that neck adjustments came with enough risk of arterial dissection that it raised alarms from the medical community. Most good chiropractors will ask if you want your neck adjusted and give you the option if you still want it.
We found two relatively inexpensive gadgets that do exactly what they advertise and will help relieve back and neck pain and adjust minor spinal misalignments.
The first gadget is a neck traction cradle. Use this lying down with the large foam pad under your neck, or upright with the cradle against the back of a tall chair. This supports your head and puts gentle traction on your neck and relaxes muscles in the neck and shoulders. The neck cradle can also relax back muscles as the tension eases in your neck. In some cases, this can be enough to allow your neck and your back to pop back in place as the muscles relax. This device also does a good job of easing “tech neck” and tight shoulders from too much computer use.

The other great gadget is this back traction device. The arch of this back stretcher can be adjusted to raise or lower the arch. Use this to relax back muscles by resting on the stretcher and giving it time to stretch and relax tense back muscles. It can be moved up or down your back to relax regions of your back. This tool is also handy for “popping” your back and putting minor vertebrae misalignment back in place. The combination of stretching and relaxing the muscles and the push from the arch of the stretcher is ideal for realigning your spine. This pair of relatively cheap tools can keep your back happy and avoid the need for minor adjustments at the chiropractor.
